Patients with cancer are uniquely vulnerable to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). MD Anderson is working diligently to protect our patients from the virus while safeguarding the health and well-being of our workforce.
We remain grateful and humbled by your continued generosity and unwavering commitment to our mission. If you choose to make a donation at this time, please consider providing assistance to those impacted by COVID-19.
Patient Assistance Program
This long-established program, administered by MD Anderson’s Social Work department, helps patients and their families who are suffering financial stress due to non-medical costs associated with cancer care — expenses like hotel accommodations, airfare and other transportation costs, meals and more. As patients and their families experience the loss of jobs and additional income caused by the virus outbreak, the need for support becomes even more critical.
Launched in 2011, the Caring Fund helps MD Anderson employees recover from disasters. Over the years, the fund has aided more than 1,000 employees through dollars generously donated by MD Anderson employees and private donors across the country. The Caring Fund now has been expanded to help employees cover unexpected expenses (such as temporary housing, child care expenses or transportation) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible applicants may receive up to $2,000 per event, with a maximum distribution of $10,000 over their lifetime.
